Gauthier Dance is the dance ensemble of Theaterhaus Stuttgart with 14 uniquely talented dancers under the direction of the choreographer, dancer and musician Eric Gauthier. Founded in October 2007 the company has rapidly cut a niche for itself in the international dance scene. Gauthier Dance`s trademark is ambitious choreographies characterised by their humour, originality and technical virtuosity. By combining artistry and accessibility without creating unnecessary hurdles, the company`s aim of attracting a new audience to contemporary dance.

Po-cheng TSAI comes from Taiwan. Artistic director of B.DANCE. After graduating from Taipei National University of the Arts, he furthered his study in Broadway Dance Center, New York in 2007. His works are unique and diverse, which combine dance theatre and physical technique naturally. He was selected as one of the Taiwanese Representatives in 2010 Asian Young Choreographer Project. His pieceFloating Flowerwon the Choice Award in Taiwan’s National Creative Dance Competition 2013, and was invited to China Dance Forward 2014 in Hong Kong,and Guangdong Dance Festival in Guangzhou, won both Audience Award and Gauthier Dance/Stuttgart Theater Production Award in the 28th Hannover International Competition for Choreographers 2014.

His works are unique and diverse, which combine dance theatre and physical technique naturally. He was selected as one of the Taiwanese Representatives in 2010 Asian Young Choreographer Project. His solo/duet dance work Floating Flowers won double prizes at the 28th Hannover International Competition for Choreographers 2014 for Audience Award and Gauthier Dance/Stuttgart Theater Production Award; this dance work also won the Choice Award in Taiwan’s National Creative Dance Competition 2013.
