Iana Salenko is a principal dancer at the Berlin State Ballet, and a guest artist with the Royal Ballet, London. She has born 1983 in Kiev, Ukraina. Iana trained at the Pisarev Ballet School, Donetsk, where she graduated in 2000. She joined Theatre Opera and Ballet of Donetsk as soloist in 2001,  in Kiev National Opera 2002-2005 as a Principal dancer. In 2005 Iana joined the Berlin State Ballet as a demi-soloist, was promoted one year later to soloist and in 2007 to first soloist. She joined the Royal Ballet as a guest artist for the 2013/14 season, to dance Kitri in Carlos Acosta’s production of Don Quixote. Salenko is married to the Berlin State Ballet principal dancer Marian Walter.
