Alina Somova (Rus Алина Сомова) is Principal with Mariinsky Ballet. She was born in Leningrad (St Petersburg). Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 2003 (class of Professor Lyudmila Safronova). After graduating from the ballet school in 2003 at age 17, she then joined the Mariinsky Ballet under the Artistic Director Makhar Vaziev. During her first year in the company, she was given the unusual honor of dancing Odette/Odile in Swan Lake on May 13, 2003. She was one of the youngest dancers in the company history to attain this kind of recognition. Advancing quickly, Alina became a soloist in 2004.
Danila Korsuntsev (Rus. Данила Корсунцев) is leading danseur in Mariinsky Ballet, St. Petersburg. He was born in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Danila graduated from the Uzbek School of Dance in 1992 (class of Kurkmas Sagatov). From 1992 – 1998 he was a soloist with the Moscow State Academic “Classical Ballet” Theatre directed by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasiliev. Danila joined the Mariinsky Ballet Company in 1998.
